The Greatest Show on Earth
Challenge
Paaspop - One of the originals when it comes to festivals in the Netherlands, having started in 1974. Every year in Schijndel, it kicks off the start of the explosive festival season. Festivalgoers arrive in Schijndel to experience the diverse lineup of musical genres, along with comedy, theater, and other entertainment acts. Elevating Electric Avenues visuals meant that eye catching wasn’t enough - it needed to stop people in their tracks with a design that was vibrant, playful, and the perfect amount of chaos - perfectly in tune with Paaspop’s unmistakable spirit.

01. Brief
Transform Electric Avenue into a spectacle that steals the show. A vibrant mix of circus flair meets Monty Python set the tone, creating a space where the unexpected felt right at home. Beyond boldness, funny and deranged visuals in the Middelplein offered lighthearted storytelling, giving festivalgoers a moment to take a breath while staying hyped. And to complete the transformation, the avenue’s tall reaching towers were redesigned, making sure that every detail radiated the unmistakable energy and eccentricity of the festival.

02. Designer insights
“Every asset was actually created with Midjourney, so everything from the circus director to the clocks was made using AI. In the end it added up to thousands of prompts and variations. Back then that was unthinkable of, most of it would be considered ancient now.”

03. Concept
“The Greatest Show on Earth” tagline became our main focus point. We imagined Electric Avenue as a surreal, outlandish experience with multiple storylines from an unhinged circus.
We created a mix of live stage feeds, ridiculous weather reports, interactive visuals and breaking news from the legendary PPC One. Recurring characters and news reporters kept the madness feeling cohesive, like a travelling circus of visual storytelling.
The cherry on top was our experiments with Midjourney and Stable Diffusion. Our characters and the majority of the visual assets were created with these AI tools, but were developed and animated into this circus-themed universe by our motion designers and show crew.
Our founder and motion designer Kevin, together with Daan and Mike, controlled the chaos and broadcasted it across 2500 m² of screens on the redesigned towers - turning the Middenplein into a non-stop exhilarating and engaging revelry
